What Poker Director does with personal information, in plain words.
Most Poker Director data never leaves the computer it runs on. A tournament director’s PC holds the players, the results and the season history in local files. Nothing is sent anywhere unless the operator switches on the online features, and those are off until they do.
A number is stored only alongside a recorded consent: the exact wording shown at the time, the date, and where the tick came from. Numbers are never published on any page, never sold, never rented, and never shared for anyone else’s marketing. A venue that has not switched this on collects no numbers at all.
When a venue publishes a tournament, its page carries the season standings, the state of the game, and the cash list. Player names appear in the season standings, because that is what standings are. Names are not published in the live view of a game in progress — that shows a count of players remaining and nothing more. Phone numbers are never published at all, on any page.
Each tournament’s page has its own unguessable address. It is public to anyone holding that address, which is how a printed QR code works, so treat it as public.
A player can ask to keep their own record across venues by ticking a box when they sign up. Nothing is kept for anybody who does not tick it — there is no record until a player asks for one, and the page behaves exactly as it otherwise would.
What is stored is which venues that player has linked and the name they play under at each. Their results are not copied: those are already each venue’s own record of a night it ran, and the record simply joins them up. The link is held against a one-way hash of the player’s own key, so the key itself is not in our records.
Cash game buy-ins and winnings are not collected, published or held, by us or by the venue. A player’s record shows tournament finishing places and payouts, the same figures the venue already publishes in its standings.
The record opens at an unguessable address held by the player, with no password — anyone holding that address can see it, and the page says so. The same page carries a button that deletes the record: the venue links and the record of the agreement both go, and afterwards the address stops working. Venues cannot see another venue’s entries, and no player can see another player’s record.
Purchases are handled by Stripe. Card details are never seen or stored by Poker Director. What is kept is an email address and a record that a licence was issued.
Season standings are kept as long as the venue runs the league — a league with no history is not a league. Live game state is disposable and is replaced or discarded as games end. To have a number or a record removed, email keys@poker-director.net.
